“I am not sure if your newspaper will publish my letter but I truly believe that for once I have received service that desperately needs other people to hear about it. Even if at the end it merely gives people hope that good service does exist.

In October last year I purchased a leather couch from Incanda Leather Furniture in Paarl for our holiday home in Kleinmond.
However only a few months later, we have noticed that the cushioning on the one arm has collapsed and so I took a few photos and sent them to Incanda with an explanatory email. I honestly never thought that I would really get an answer any time soon and that I would have to chase after the owner to get some response.

However herewith the email response that I received almost instantaneously:

Morning Brigette
I have been looking at your pictures. I can assure that is has nothing to with the framework itself but it is defnitely the padding. Sometimes these things can happen. This is only the second case I have in 6 years. 
I will be brutally honest with you with what happened in this case as in the other case. At that spesific spot on the armrest are 2 sets of foam joining each other with glue, spesificly used on foam. The reason for collapsing is that there were too little glue on the foam. And I take full responsability for this matter. Though, it is a very simple adjustment to fixed your problem. It is unlikely that we will keep the couch for a week to repair the problem.
I also CC Lesley Davids, our logistical manager, so that he can contact you regarding the pickup and delivering of your couch. 
Lesley, can you please keep my updated with the progress of this matter. 

Lesley has indeed been in touch and my couch is being collected a week and a bit after I sent the complaint.  I was completely blown away by the honest answer from Hendri and the immediate follow through.
So please can you allow this letter to be printed so that others can also benefit from a company that takes their craft seriously and their responsibility even more seriously.” (22.4.2010)
